Supervised visitation in the City of Atlanta

The City of Atlanta sits across two counties — most of the city is in Fulton, but neighborhoods east of Moreland Avenue (Edgewood, Kirkwood, East Lake, parts of East Atlanta) are in DeKalb. That matters for family court because filings go to the Superior Court of the county where the case is venued — Fulton County Superior Court (downtown Atlanta) for most City of Atlanta cases, DeKalb County Superior Court (Decatur) for east-side cases.

TruVisit Atlanta supervisors meet families at mutually convenient public locations across the city — not at our office. We don't charge mileage. We don't pick a fixed office on one side of town and require everyone to drive to it.

Fulton vs. DeKalb — which court has your case?

If your case was filed in Fulton County, it will be heard at the Fulton County Justice Center Tower (185 Central Ave SW, downtown Atlanta). If it was filed in DeKalb County, hearings happen at the DeKalb County Courthouse in Decatur (556 N. McDonough St). The court that issued your order is the court whose documentation standards your supervised visitation reports need to meet.

TruVisit Atlanta works with orders from both — and from any other Georgia Superior Court. Our reports are formatted in the objective, non-editorial, timestamped style that Georgia family courts expect.

City of Atlanta + Atlanta summers Atlanta summers are hot and humid. From late May through September we lean toward air-conditioned indoor venues — children's museums, indoor play, libraries — both for the child's comfort and to avoid heat issues that can affect the quality of a visit.
